This 233-acre park is at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Driving from the south, visitors pass through Neel Gap, a beautiful mountain pass near Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia.

Hiking at Vogel State ParkVogel is particularly popular during the fall when the Blue Ridge Mountains transform into a rolling blanket of red, yellow and gold leaves.

Campgrounds Info
40 foot Campsites hold the following equipment: 1 tent, 2 tents, a pop-up trailer, a trailer up to 40', or a motorhome up to 40'. Each site has water, 30 amp electrical service (a limited number of 50 amp sites are available first come, first served), picnic table, grill, and fire ring. No cable hook-ups. Maximum 6 people per site. Maximum 2 vehicles per site. Washer & dryer's are on site at the Visitor's Center (not in campground).
Walk-in Campsites hold the following equipment: 1 full-size tent, or 1 full-size tent and 1 two man pup tent. This area is for hike-in campers only. Sites are located 1500 feet from parking area. All sites have a picnic table and a grill but no electricity or water. All tents must be pitched on designated tent pads. There is a comfort station located within the campground. Maximum 6 people per site. No vehicles.
Pioneer Campsite - This is a primitive, rugged site for groups only with a minimum of 10 persons. Site is located by itself and is not accessible by road. Site has no water or electricity. There are two adirondak shelters, picnic shelter, and pit toilet. Occupants of the pioneer camping area are not permitted to use the campground showers. Those found showering will be charged $2 per person. All campers must be at the site by 10 pm. This area is for hike-in campers only, no vehicles allowed. Vehicles must be parked in designated area. Camping area is 3/10 of a mile from the parking area.

1-Bedroom Cottages - Main room has two double beds and bedroom has one double bed. Sleeps 6. Has one full bath. Bed and bath linens provided. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker. Fireplace (wood not provided) heat/AC. No TV. No phone.
1-Bedroom Efficiency Cottages - Main room has two double beds. Sleeps 4. Has one full bath. Bed and bath linens provided. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker. Fireplace (wood not provided) heat/AC. No TV. No phone. Picnic table and grill outside.
1-Bedroom Cottages - Each cottage has one bedroom with a double bed and two double beds in the main room. Fully equipped kitchen has stove/oven, coffee maker, pots/pans, dishes, utensils, cups/glasses, & refrigerator.
Log Cabin - One bedroom cottage. Bedroom has two double beds. Sleeps 4. Has one full bath. Bed and bath linens provided. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker. Fireplace (wood not provided) heat/AC. No TV. No phone. Screened porch. Picnic table and grill outside.
Small Efficiency Cottages - Main room has one double bed. Sleeps 2. Has one full bath. Bed and bath linens provided. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker. Fireplace (wood not provided) heat/AC. No TV. No phone. Picnic table and grill outside.
2-Bedroom Cottages - Each bedroom has two double beds. Sleeps 8. Has one full bath. Bed and bath linens provided. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee maker. Fireplace (wood not provided) heat/AC. No TV. No phone.

Picnic Shelters - All visitors are required to have a parkpass.
Picnic Shelter #1 - Open-sided covered shelter. Picnic shelter has level surface and wheelchair access. Near mini golf, Visitor Center and lake.
Picnic Shelter #2 - Open-sided covered shelter. Picnic shelter is near lake and miniature golf, across the road from Visitor Center.
Picnic Shelter #3 - Open-sided covered shelter. Picnic shelter end on 3 sides and on hill across from lake.
Picnic Shelter #4 - Open-sided covered shelter. Accessible by Hwy 180. No drive direct inside of park.
Group Shelter
End shelter with heat, air conditioning, celing fans, stove, sink, refrigerator, table and chairs, and BBQ pit. Near swimming beach and connected restroom. Handicapped accessible.

Reservations Cancellation Policy
Picnic Shelter at Vogel State ParkCancellation of a reservation must be made at least 3 days prior to the date of arrival in order to receive a refund. A cancellation/handling fee per reservation will be charged. Changes in arrival date made less than 3 days prior to the scheduled arrival will constitute a cancellation and forfeit of the deposit. 7-14 day Cottage Reservation Guidelines: All cancellations received 30 days in advance will receive deposit refund minus the cancellation fee per facility.

If a customer requests to cancel less then 30 days in advance but before 72 hours of arrival, the customer may request refund in witting to the site. If cottage is rebooked for the time period originally reserved, site will have Customer Service issue a full refund to the customer minus the cancellation fee. If reservation is cancelled within 72 hours of arrival date no refund of the one night deposit will be given. Deposits are required for all reservations. Credit card deposits are posted when the reservation is made.

Check-in - Check-in is between 1 pm and 10 pm and check-out is before 1 pm. Campers must register and present a reservation confirmation before setting up. If you do not arrive on the first night of your stay, you will be counted as a no-show, your reservation will be cancelled, and you will forfeit your deposit.

Reservation Changes (Changes in arrival dates, transfers, etc.). You may make one change without a charge, provided a 3-day notice is given. Additional changes will incur a per reservation handling fee.
