Barnsley Gardens - Rescued in 1988, the gardens are now restored to the showcase of the South as they once were. Located in Adairsville, Georgia
Birdsong Nature Center was formerly a working plantation, then an experimental farm. Birdsong’s 565 acres are now managed as a nature preserve that supports a diversity ofobservable wildlife in woodland, wetland, and old-field habitats, easily accessible on 12 miles of nature trails. The co-founder, the late Betty Komarek, designed the original Bird Window and gardens, which have been attracting birds and other wildlife since 1938. Birdsong hosts many guided walks and nature events throughout the year including the Annual Butterfly Festival in July and the Fall Festival in October. Chatham County Garden Center and Botanical Gardens are on land once used as a prison farm. A historic 1840s wooden farmhouse about to be demolished was transported to these premises to serve as the garden center headquarters. This 10-acre site serves to educate the public in conservation, horticulture, landscape design, even garden therapy. Courses and lectures are routinely given in botany and related fields, tours of these and other botanical gardens are conducted, and the already fine collection of native trees (some quite mature), shrubs, and flowers is being enlarged. Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo Farm - developed around a historic early 20th-century USDA plant introduction station (now closed) – is a 51-acre site ten miles southwest of downtown Savannah. Numerous bamboo clumps, some species the first of their kind planted in the United States, grow here still, as do magnificent specimens of Japanese evergreen oak, Chinese pistachio, Oliver maple, China fir and lord’s holly. You-pick berry fields, freshwater lakes and specialty gardens are also found. CGBG is known for its noteworthy collections of cold-hardy palms, aquatic ornamentals and species camellias. The master plan is being implemented, with new visitor amenities, ornamental gardens and plant collections added annually. Located in Savannah, Georgia

Favorite Things Daylily Garden - This AHS approved Display Garden holds approximately 1000 varieties from Lily's from the older hard to find varieties to the very newest, approximately 500 are in display beds. Peak bloom is usually around the 12th - 20th June, depending on the weather. Garden is open for visitors from May 1st until July 1st, Thursday through Sunday, 10 am until 4 pm and other times by appointment. Call before visiting so we will be here. Forsyth Park - Savannah is not only celebrated for its charming historic houses but also for its delightful squares, that string of intimate, jewel-like commons, some of which have graced the city for well over 200 years. These 24 rectangular, impeccably maintained oases contain the inevitable oaks (yes, dripping with Spanish moss), azaleas and other blossoms, and fountains and monuments. Forsyth Park, sometimes referred to as the Last Square because of its location, is also the city’s largest park. Encompassing twenty- one acres, it includes parkland with gardens and a magnificent central fountain. Fred Hamilton Rhododendron Garden - Quietly tucked away in the North Georgia Mountains, sits a rare and special treasure. A botanical paradise fairly bursting with dogwood, tulip magnolias, native azaleas, wild flowers, trillium, and rhododendron. Over 400 varieties of rhododendron – 3,000 plants in all. Fulwood Garden Center - Mr. and Mrs P. D. Fulwood built their stately home for their family in 1914. The beautiful gardens made this one of South Georgia's most beautiful sights.Mr. Fulwood was a pioneer in vegetable plant production in the early 1900's. His success prompted other farmers to enter into the vegetable growing field. Now this is one of south Georgia's leading markets. She had a deep interest in horticulture and landscaped several acres of the grounds surrounding her home. Many of the unusual plantings are still there today. Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern University - Centered on an early 20th century farmstead, Georgia Southern Botanical Garden offers visitors a unique view of the cultural and natural heritage of the southeastern coastal plain, an area rich in unique and endangered plants. Gardens of H. M. Patterson & Sons - Conceived in the late 1920s by architect Philip Shutze to complement his elegant design for the house, the gardens at Spring Hill are divided into two sections, one formal, the other less so. On the north end of the building is the intimate, partially enclosed formal area, with symmetrical rows of boxwoods, geometric flower beds, and grassy cutouts. A graceful female statue and a small fountain with a basin of aquatic plants add classical touches. The south garden features a gently sloping hillside of colorful flowers and shrubs amid rocks and stone pathways. Awalk in a garden surrounding a funeral home might not strike most people as an especially inviting proposition, but a visit to either of these two similar sites might revise this view. Lewis Vaughn Botanical Gardens - 1.5 garden acres nestled in the heart of Downtown Conyers. The site offers examples of native plants of Georgia's Piedmont region. The pond is

Macon State College - When construction on the College began in 1967, the 167-acre campus became home to more than 1,600 trees, 2,500 shrubs and 12,000 ground cover
plants. Divided into 16 distinct gardens, the plan advised detailed lists of plants for the each theme: Southern Traditional, Fruit Trees, Shrubs and Vines, Medicinal, Natives, Showy Fruit, Showy Flowers, Fragrant, Wet Environment, Touch & Feel, Fall Colors, European, Asian, Urban Environment, Industry and Xeriscape (landscaping requiring the least amount of water). Marietta Educational Garden Center is supported by the 24 Garden Clubs of Marietta, GA. The Center is frequented by these groups for meetings, social gatherings and public events. Club members also assist in the beautification of the Center by donating their time and energy throughout the year. The front porch provides a grand view of the center grounds. A handicap ramp provides easy access to the porch and center for anyone who cannot use the stairs.
