This bridge is not historic, but it exemplifies the interest the public still has in covered bridges. Originally designed as a pre-stressed concrete bridge, county planners decided to make this bridge a landmark, adding a large wooden superstructure and rock facing to the underlying concrete bridge. Concerned about the possibility of fire, this bridge is equipped with cameras, smoke detectors and a sprinkler system.

FREE to park at and visit, and drive through anytime.

Directions: From Atlanta, take I-20 east to Exit 40 at Sigman Road to Hwy. 20 north, go east on Bethel road and north on Haralson Mill Road. In Panola Mountain State Conservation Park in the Historic Park Travel Region.
