Eddie Fletcher Memorial County Park

Graves Mountain elevation is approximately 900 feet. It is the world's premier location for large, multiply twinned rutile crystals; rutile, lazulite, pyrophyllite, kyanite, hematite, pyrite, ilmenite, muscovite, fuchsite, barite, sulfur, blue quartz, quartz crystals, and microcrystals such as woodhouseite, variscite, strengite, phosphosiderite, cacoxenite, crandallite. Rare minerals abound in the rubble from an old mining operation. Rutile and rare titanium dioxide crystal are some of the more popular minerals found on the mountain, along with kyanite, neon-blue lazulite, pyrophyllite, iridescent hematite and iron pyrite ("fool's gold"). Rock hounds, geology students and others make frequent pilgrimages to the surreal geological anomaly that juts skyward from an otherwise smooth terrain. Lincoln County Historical Park is an assemblage of aged-buildings, featuring the Groves-May House, Dr. May's office, a log smokehouse, an old sawmill, a blacksmith's shop, restored 1850's cotton gin, and a restorated late 1700's log cabin, moved and situated in one location. Bussey Point Management Area is a 2,545-acre park. It offers primitive camping, horseback riding areas, abundant wildlife, natural forest setting, picnic areas, picnic shelters, restrooms and over 9 miles of hiking trails. Clarks Hill Lake is the largest reservoir in the southeast boasting 1,200 miles of shoreline with 400 miles located in Lincoln County. Recreational oasis. Fishing is very popular with the lake brimming with largemouth, white, striped, and hybrid bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and a limited supply of brown and rainbow trout. Clarks Hill Lake attracts a variety of sports competitions such as bass tournaments, that offer participation either as a spectator or participant, and several crappie tournaments.
