Lincoln County Library
Stop by the Lincoln County Library for a visit, 'dig up some bones' and talk history.
The library has an extensive collection of books, personal family records, local maps, historical photographs and artifacts, and family Bibles as well as two genealogy computers with access to The Augusta Chronicle archives and other genealogical websites such as Ancestry Plus.

Patrons may also view issues of The Lincoln Journal on microfilm that date back to 1885. The machine is equipped with a photocopier.

The books and artifacts currently in the library’s collection include:
Copies of “Grier’s Almanac” from the early 1900s, written by Lincoln County native Otis Ashmore. One of the almanacs contains advertisements for Cheney’s Expectorant for “consumption, croup, tickling of the nose, droppings in the throat, bronchitis, and all throat and lung troubles;” Stuart’s Buchu and Juniper for diabetes and kidney trouble; Blackman’s Medicated Salt Brick — “They climb a tree for it.;” Wurtzburger Malt Tonic — “A Great Tonic for Weak and Pale People;” and Jacobs’ Liver Salt.
Hours of Operation
Call for hours and to ask for geneologist, Diane Poteat.
