Lake Lanier
Local business woman, Krista Goodrich of Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party Studios, has partnered with Will Kurhanewicz of South Eastern Networking Solutions and formerly of New Wave Cable Park, to launch Wake the Lake Cable Park. This is a new part of the exciting water adventure experience that will be offered at Lanier World.

The new cable park will have thrilling features such as a double-sided ramp and will accommodate several different types of watersports. A cable park is a pulley system that allows individuals to wakeboard, waterski, wakeskate, kneeboard or tube while being pulled by a cable. There is no boat required and the system is extremely environmentally friendly.
Cable parks are popular in Europe and are making their way into the water sports scene stateside as there are now over 60 cable parks in the US. Cables offer a low cost of entry into the sports of wakeboarding and waterskiing as there is no expensive boat to purchase, no need to buy fuel and gear can typically be rented for the day. Wake the Lake Cable Park plans to rent gear such as wakeboards, skis, life jackets and helmets or you can bring your own.

The park is planning on having several pro and amateur events as well as summer camps, demonstrations, water safety courses and more. Goodrich and Kurhanewicz, both avid wakeboarders, teamed together to design a cable system that is enjoyable for all skill levels from beginners to Professionals. Learning to wakeboard is easier on a cable than behind a boat and is ideal for young kids, teens, adults and even active seniors. Easily accessed by boat or car, Wake the Lake Cable Park will be located in the cove opposite of the new docks at Sunset Cove.

Goodrich says they are very pleased to be working with LanierWorld in providing a safe and affordable alternative to those who would like to enjoy water sports on Lake Lanier. The easy access of the park in Sunset Cove will offer boaters and beachgoers the opportunity to watch riders at the park, will offer a safer solution to wakeboarding in a crowded lake and even day trippers enjoying the LanierWorld water park can walk over and enjoy the cable park.

Goodrich hopes to attract water sports enthusiasts from all over the southeast. The park opens in April and will operate weekends through Memorial Day and then daily all summer long. Park hours are 10am-6pm, with some night riding sessions available as well as other special events.

Riders can purchase a pass for an hour, 2 hour hours, half day or full day and reservations are highly recommended. There will be a limited number (50) of season passes available for sale on a first-come first-served basis and will include a parking pass to LanierWorld. Season passes can be purchased by calling 678-409-9053 and are currently available.

For questions or additional information, please contact Krista Goodrich at 678-409-9053.
