Deep Hole Campground & General Information
Located along the banks of a big turn in the Toccoa River just north of Suches, GA. This small campground and recreation area offers camping, canoeing and fishing. A great place for year round water-based recreation activities.

Deep Hole Recreation Area bridge over riverCampground Amenities: There are no water or electric hook-ups or dump station available in the campground. Restroom and fishing deck are accessible to people with disabilities. There are 8 camping sites, 1 vault facility and a canoe launch. Standard amenities such as a grill, picnic tables and lantern post are provided.

Reservations Reservations are not required. Campsites are on a first come, first serve basis.
Fees: Camping: $10 - Non-waterfront and $12 - Waterfront, Day Use: $3 per vehicle per day.
Permit Info: Georgia fishing license and trout stamp required for fishing.

Open: Open Yearlong 24 hours a day. Quiet hours are 10pm - 6am.

Restrictions: 14 day stay limit. Maximum 2 vehicles per campsite. Dogs must be leashed at all times.

Deep Hole Recreation Area CampsiteClosest Towns: The nearest town is approximately 17 miles north, or 30 minutes, in Blue Ridge, GA. Here campers will find restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Water: No drinking water

Restroom Facilities: 1 Vault facility

Passes: The Interagency Senior and Access Passes and the Golden Age and Access Passports are accepted. These passes entitle the pass holder to a 50% discount on camping fees.

Chattahoochee Outdoor Adventures Annual Pass: $50 Available by calling Chattahoochee Outdoor Adventures at 1-800-251-4800. This Annual Pass is valid at the following recreation areas for day use activities only: Lake Winfield Scott, Morganton Point, DeSoto Falls, Lakewood Landing Boat Launch, Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms, and Deep Hole.

Day Hiking Trails within a 30 minute drive - The Appalachian Trail cross Hwy 60 at Woody Gap, approximately 13 miles south. The Benton MacKaye Trail crosses Hwy. 60 in two places; at Tooni Gap approximately 2 miles north and at Wilscot Gap approximately 8 miles north.

Picnicking - A day use area is available for those looking to picnic, fish or canoe along the Toccoa River. Deep Hole includes 4 picnic sites, canoe launch, and fishing deck.

Boating - Non-Motorized - The canoe launch at this site makes river access very easy. Floating down the Toccoa River is very popular among visitors. The Toccoa River Canoe Trail starts at the Deep Hole Recreation Area and flows 13.8 miles to the take-out at Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area. People floating the Toccoa River are allowed passage through private lands along the river. However, according to state law, fishing, camping and entering onto private land is illegal without landowner permission, as is fishing from the river in a boat, tube, or any other floating device where both sides of the river are privately owned.

Directions From Blue Ridge, GA take US 515 north for 4 miles to GA Hwy. 60; turn right and go 2 miles to Morganton. In Morganton, turn right on GA Hwy. 60 for 14.8 miles to campground on right.

From Dahlonega, GA take GA Hwy. 60 north for 27 miles to campground on left.
